中國古代版圖廣濶,城市及鄉鎮間物資運送主要依靠水、陸兩路,偏遠未開發地方常有山賊盤據,以搜劫來往商旅財物或貨物為生。因而衍生了鏢師這一獨有行業。
鏢師其實是物流業的祖先,集貨運、運輸保險、安全護衛保安於一身。鏢局接鏢後,由鏢頭率領鏢師負責押送寄運貨品至目的地,以賺取鏢銀(運費)為生。形式有點似今天的速遞公司加護衛隊。
沿途遇山翻山,見水過水,無路修路,遇賊抗賊,務求於指定時間內安全護送貨物抵達目的地。萬一遇上土匪山賊攔途截劫,搶走貨物,還得賠償給貨主。
程某上星期受朋友所托,斗胆權充鏢頭,走了人生的第一趟鏢。腳程來回九百多英哩。單程四小時半。貨物價值暫且不談,唯一困難是要貨不離身(鏢車)之外,温度要保持於攝氏13到16度。否則人家四份一世紀心血便會毁於我手中。
交貨後貨主用以慰勞鏢師的果汁。
在人生旅途上,大家不住的往前低頭疾走,向着自己的人生目標進發。每天營營役役無事忙,有沒有想過為何?有幾許會提醒自己慢下步伐,關心一下跟自己萍水相逢,或在旁邊擦身而過,或於人生交滙點有緣碰上的您?

Because Fed Ex's delivery terms and conditions does not provide enough coverage for the goods to be shipped. They have disclaimer and asked customers to sign off on liabilities. For the goods that we are shipping, weather condition, shipping condition will affect the future value of the goods. And we cannot afford any mis-shipment/delay due to prior commitments. Keep in mind we were shipping something that was crafted 25 years ago at Bordeaux and there is no way you could replace them.
